Cooking2

Bismillah ..

Just want to update few things ..
There's not much going on since returning from Taiwan ..

Tapi mungkin keadaan cuaca yang berubah dari sejuk > panas > sejuk membuatkan badan lemah sangat ..
Sekarang sedang cuba mendapatkan semula momentum untuk reading and writing manuscript..
Waaaahhh malas betul sekarang ..

Juga sedang bimbang tentang bulan ramadhan yang siangnya panjang.. saat aku menulis ni aku sedang cuba berpuasa.. tapi perut aku berbunyi2 berdendang sayang.. naik malu pun ada... kata sahabat baik aku si wana tu, eloklah kalau aku start practice dari sekarang.. bayangkanlah, almost 17 hours pose.. Allah.. Semoga Allah memudahkan urusan ibadahku .. Amin ..

Sakura yang kini mulai berguguran

Owh, another update .. I dah join usrah online, 2 minggu sekali.. Starting Sabtu lepas... Makanya sabtu lepas tak dapatlah i menonton "Arashi ni syiagare"... Hahaha ..
Thanks to my bestie Cik Ct for introducing me to this usrah..

Ok back to original topic .. Cooking2 .. In search of the appropriate recipe for food festival Hokudai (Hakodate campus), aku pun mencubalah beberapa resepi berikut:

Pasembor

Sate
Karipap
Akhirnya decided nak buat karipap je la... simple .. malas nak fikir banyak sebab orang jepun ni banyak pulak rulesnya... tak boleh potong sayur, ikan and meat.. then, camne kami nak masak... kalau x boleh potong semua baik beli je...
ntah pape ntah.. hahaha..
tapi nasib diorg ni baik... lepas discuss elok2 diorg benarkan kami potong memotong..

Dan juga.. stall kami ni actually gabungan Malaysia and Indonesia...
Menu kami:
1) three fillings authentic Malaysian Karipap (poyo je nama, rupa x semegah mana pun..hahaha)
2) Es Kopyor
3) Dadar gulung coklat

Ahad ni kami decide nak praktis masak.. main masak2 mcm masa kecil2 dulu..
nanti i update rupa masakan kitorang ye...

Ok, till then.. bye..bye..

Another postponed entry: My first publication (as co-author)

Bismillah...

Publishing a manuscript is really a great deal for graduate students.

Praise to Allah Almighty, my first paper in Hokkaido University was published and available online last 26 March. The paper can be access by clicking the authors' name below:

Enhanced hydrogen production by a newly described heterotrophic marine bacterium, Vibrio tritonius strain AM2, using seaweed as the feedstock

  • Yuta Matsumura
  • Kazumichi Sato
  • Nurhidayu Al-saari
  • Satoshi Nakagawa
  • Tomoo Sawabe

  • Sorry, though i have a copy of mine, i cannot post it here. Some publication rules or something...

  • here's the abstract for the paper:

  • To achieve more stable bio-hydrogen (bioH2) production from non-food feedstocks, stable feedstock preparations of marine biomass and an efficient bioH2 system using marine bacteria under saline conditions are two important key technologies that needed to be developed.Vibrio tritoniusstrain AM2, which was isolated from the gut of a marine invertebrate, was cultured under various conditions in marine broth (at initial 2.25% (w/v) NaCl) supplemented with mannitol, a seaweed carbohydrate, to evaluate its hydrogen production. The maximum molar yield of bioH2was recorded as 1.7 mol H2/mol mannitol at pH 6 and 37 C. The mannitol-grown cells had higher yields of bioH2than the glucose-grown cells in the pH range 5.5e7.5. Compared to glucose, mannitol might be a better substrate for bioH2production using strain AM2. Fermentation product profiling revealed that strain
AM2 might be utilising the formate-hydrogen pathway for bioH2production. Furthermore, strain AM2 was able to produce hydrogen from powdered brown macroalgae containing 31.1% dry weight of mannitol. The molar yield of hydrogen reached 1.6 mol H2/mol mannitol contained in the seaweed feedstock. In conclusion, strain AM2 has the ability to produce hydrogen from mannitol with high yields even under saline conditions.

  • Have fun reading.... XOXOXO

    APMBC 2014 and Jiufen, Taiwan

In the name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Beneficence

Coming back from Asian Pacific of Marine Biotechnology Conference in Taiwan last week.

    http://www.apmbc2014.com/
Have a blast trip with sensei and Gao san ...
    AND
I won a Gold Award for poster presentation.

    I received a congratulatory certificate and USD 500 ...
    Nice rite ... hihihihi ... =)
All thanks and appreciation should go to my sensei and fellow lab mates.
and above all, praise to Allah and many thanks to Mom and Dad.
It was a wonderful experience ..

Not to mention, we went to Jiufen, Taiwan.
    YEAY!!!
Jiufen was said to be the inspirational city of famous Studio Ghibli's Anime entitled "Spirited Away" OR "Sen to Chihiro" ..
To tell you the truth, the anime really resembles the real city ..
Here's all the photos for your surfing pleasure ... hahaha ...

    Updating this entry
Me was featured in Blog of Hokkaido University ..
    weee ....
    Alhamdulillah ...
